Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jamesenez on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her film career began in Mexico which she played in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood through appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's role as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002) in which she also co-produced in the film, made Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. This also earned her a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek starred in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico films over the next years and focused more on creating.
